It's Pimping Time!

I can't believe it's almost Pitch Wars time again! Last year I decided to enter Pitch Wars at the eleventh hour. This year, I've decided to actually have my crap together. I'm so proud of myself! Let's get to it, shall we?

After writing several manuscripts set in the big city, this time I went small. My contemporary romance is set in a small town Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. Think quaint, perfect little mountain town relying on tourist dollars to keep the lights on. The townsfolk are more than a little particular about things being just so.

Our heroine is Cadence, but you can call her Cady. Her father's the mayor, putting her in a spotlight she's never much cared for. In a town of a thousand, the men are either blood relations or or one log short of a load. She's resigned herself to the cat lady life.

Our hero is an outsider. Noah is the big, burly quiet type, often told he resembles the Brawny paper towel man. He left city life behind, hoping to mend his shattered heart in the mountains.

Throw in a small town election (leaving Cady and Noah with opposing allegiances), family drama, and old dog and plenty of cats, and you've got FAR FROM CHARMING.

This is not my first rodeo. I've been a mentee before, in a different writing group. Yeah, I cried a little during some of the harder assignments but I put on my big girl panties and dealt with it then and I'd do the same again if chosen. I finished FAR FROM CHARMING right after last year's Pitch Wars and I've been whipping it into shape ever since. Suffice to say, I'm ready to work.

Born a military brat in Tehran, Iran, I grew up outside of Baltimore. Now I live in Virginia in the cutest little house with with my husband, one geriatric cat, the sweetest little cat you've ever seen, and a giant fluff ball afraid of his own shadow. Oddly enough, I have three betta fish with similar traits.

When I'm not reading or writing, I'm a planner girl. You can find me with my planner or traveler's notebook. I never really outgrew my love of paper, pens (or, let's be honest, stickers).

I'm also a middling crocheter (my first blanket has a weird curve to it) as well as being a pretty darn good cross-stitcher. I'm also a huge RuPaul's Drag Race fan girl.

If you're a mentor, I sincerely hope you're not backing away slowly after reading this.

If you're a hopeful mentee, especially if you write romance or have common interests, please leave a comment or reach out to me on twitter!
