Thanksgiving for me is about the food, of course, but more importantly about counting up the things I'm thankful for. In no particular order:
-A wonderful husband who supports me in every meaning of the word.
-Despite a rough year health-wise, we're doing better.
-Despite losing my dear Quincy in April, my other animals are doing well.
-The bumpy journey to publication. It has made me tougher and ready for whatever happens.
-The silly things in life, like perfume, makeup, a cozy sweater, etc. Never underestimate the power of meaningless things to improve your mood.
-Taking inspiration from others who have achieved the dream I have set for myself.
-Taking control of my health and losing more weight this year than I have in the previous two combined.
There are a hundred other little things I'm grateful for. Taking time to think about what's good in my life has helped when I'm feeling down. So don't wait until Thanksgiving to think about what you're thankful for!
